The Special Envoy of the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia for Drought Relief and Humanitarian affairs, H.E Abdirahman Abdishakur Warsame, attended a sideline conference of the International Community organised by the Czech Republic Government.
The conference focused on strengthening diplomacy and humanitarian aid, the Envoy urged international donors to provide immediate aid to the people affected by the drought in Somalia, and work with the Somali government in the development and investment sectors, which will be a solution to the recurrence situation.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, Jan Lipavský, the Minister of Development and International Trade of Finland, Ville Skinnari and the EU Commission for Humanitarian Aid, Janez Lenarčič, all attended the conference.
The former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sweden, who is the Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations for Emergency and Humanitarian Aid, Jan Eliasson, and diplomats from the European Union, Canada, Switzerland, and the United States also participated in the conference.
