Lyon, The Commander of the Somali Police Force, General Abdi Hassan Mohamed Hijar, and a senior delegation of officers from the Somali Police Force, have participated in the International Police Conference (INTERPOL) of the Middle East, East and North African countries in Lyon, France.
The conference, which was attended by police chiefs from more than 20 countries, focused on dealing with terrorism, cross-border crime, drugs and illegal money, all of which threaten overall security of the world.
Also, the Commander and his delegation had a meeting with the Secretary General of International Police of INTERPOL Mr. Jurgen Stock, discussing the strengthening of cooperation between the Somali Police Force and INTERPOL in the areas of preventing international crimes and fighting terrorism.
The Somali Police Force is a full member of the Interpol International Police which re-activated its Somalia office in Mogadishu on July 2021.
