Russian army releases images of joint naval drills with China and Iran in Arabian sea

Images released by the Russian Defence ministry on March 18th show joint trilateral naval drills involving Russian, Chinese and Iranian warships, as Russia seeks to shore up ties with Beijing and Tehran. According to a statement published with the images, Russia was represented by the frigate Admiral Gorshkov, a medium-sized tanker, at the two-day drills in the Arabian sea. The same statement also said “the participants of the drills mastered forming an international group of warships in a given area, joint manoeuvring in various formations and battle orders.”
