International Hotel Company to Make Pakistan Debut With Five-Star Karachi Hotel

Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts, the upscale hotel company of Swiss heritage, will manage the 407-room Mövenpick Hotel Karachi

Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts [ ] announces the management of its first hotel in Pakistan. The upscale international hospitality company of Swiss heritage will take over operations of a five-star property – currently operated by Sheraton – from 1 January 2014.

The 407-room property will be renamed Mövenpick Hotel Karachi and enjoys a prime downtown location at Club Road, adjacent to the Chief Minister and Governor’s House. Commercial business locations, local shopping destinations and upscale restaurants are nearby.

Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts celebrates 40 years [ ] in the hospitality business this year and currently operates 79 hotels, resorts and cruise ships in 24 countries across Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia. With its origins rooted in food and beverage expertise, gastronomic excellence and efficient service remain important focus points for Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts. The company intends to bring to Karachi the first-class culinary experiences for which it is renowned internationally.

Mövenpick Hotel Karachi will play an important role in Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts’ expansion in South Asia. This flagship property in the country will also help enhance the outbound market from Pakistan to the company’s key destinations across the Middle East, Asia, Europe and Africa.
