Hirshabelle State President appoints flood relief committee
The President of Hirshabelle State, Mr. Mohamed Abdi Warri, today appointed a flood relief committee to deal with the effects of the floods that have affected the lives of riverbanks.
The committee, which cooperates with the relief committee appointed by the prime minister on Saturday, consists of 13 ministers and the heads of Hiran and central Shabelle provinces.
Prime Minister Hassan Ali Khayre appealed to all Somali citizens and aid organizations to participate in efforts to provide relief to those affected by the floods in the rivers and called on all government institutions to work with the Commission.
Moreover, He said that the federal government would make plans to avoid floods and frequent water shortages that have negatively affected the lives and livestock of local residents.
