Deputy PM chairs the sub-committee of pillar of Justice and the independent judiciary of the Cabinet

Mogadishu, The Deputy Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E Salah Ahmed Jama, chaired the meeting of the sub-committee of the Cabinet of Ministers on the pillar of justice and the independent judiciary, which discussed the way to deliver justice to the areas liberated from terrorists.

At the meeting, reports were heard from the institutions of justice and the judiciary. The Ministry of Justice has presented a plan to deliver urgent judicial services to areas recently liberated from Al-Shabab terrorists.

Also, the Office of the Attorney General has presented the process to operate in the areas liberated from the enemy, the Ministry of Women and Human Rights has submitted a report on the Human Rights Committee.

The Deputy PM stressed to the sub-committee on the implementation of the Government’s plan to remove the enemy from the areas in order to deliver important services to the local people and to implement them in an efficient manner.

Somali National Army strikes terrorist build-up hotspot

Somali National Army conducted operation hunting Al-Shabab terrorists in Jicibow village under Buuloburde town of Hiiraan province.

Military sources told Somali National News Agency (SONNA) army managed to disperse militants grouping-up at the area.

“The Troops and the local people are working together in the ongoing operation to apprehend the remnants of the enemy,” sources added.

By end of September, the Somali National Army with allied local people managed to liberate from Al-Shabaab militants more than 40 rural settlements.

Somali Government on Saturday suspended 40 Twitter and Facebook accounts that terrorists used to spread their propaganda and violent extremism ideology.

House of People speaker left for Netherlands in working visit

House of People speaker Adan Mohamed Nor on Sunday has left the country for Netherlands in a working visit, SONNA reported.

During his stay in Amsterdam, the speaker shall meet with his Holland counterpart and Somali community to discuss latest developments in the motherland.

Recent weeks, Mr Nor continuous engaging with house speakers of several countries to uplift cooperation and friendship relations.

Last week, In a phone talk with Finland Parliament speaker, Vanhanen Matti, both officials discussed about development and economic growth.

On 28 September, 2022, speaker Nor held phone discussions with Turkish’s Mustafa Sentop, reviewing friendship of the committees of the parliaments.

President Hassan Sheikh disbands the Judicial and Anti-Corruption Commissions

The President of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E Hassan Sheikh Mohamud disbanded the Judicial Service Commision, and the Anti-Corruption Commission in a Presidential decree. The President instructed the cabinet of the government to form these commissions in accordance with Article 71 of the constitution.

The President indicated that all the decisions made by the members of the Judicial Service Council and the Independent Anti-Corruption Commission have been cancelled.

This Presidential Decree came into effect on October 09, 2022, when it was published in the official pages of the government.

SNA and local people destroy all hideouts of the terrorist group

In the battle that took place in Jicibow area under Buuloburde District, the Somali National Army and the local people destroyed all the positions of the terrorist hideouts.

The terrorist group also suffered the most losses today after the army surrounded them at the edge of the river in the region.

Moreover, lots of weapons and ammunition confirmed to have been seized from insurgents in the fighting that took place in Jicibow.

The military officials said that they will share with the media on the damage caused done onto the terrorists.

Govt forbiddens spreading Al-Shabab extremism ideology

Somali Government has suspended 40 Twitter and Facebook accounts that terrorists used to spread their propaganda and violent extremism ideology.

Deputy Information Minister, Abdirahman Yusuf Adala, announced this measurement on Saturday at press conference.

“Every-person who spreads Al-Shabab extremism ideology is a target,” he added. “Anyone found guilty of this crime will be brought to justice”.

President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud apobted a new strategy against Al-Shabab, to fight them economically as well as militarily, to not just weaken, but to eliminate the group.

UN agencies reach Hiran region after 13 years

A delegation from the UN agencies arrived in the city of Mahaas in Hiran region after 13 years.

The purpose of this delegation was to inspect the lives of the local people and to rebuild the government offices in the city and the water wells that were recently burnt by the Khawarij groups.

SNA kills an Al-Shabab terror group ringleader in military op

National Soldiers carried out a planned operation in the Janale area of ​​the Lower Shabelle region, killing several Al-Shabab terrorists.

Mohamed Nur Shire, the militants’ ringleader in the province, is among 13 others who neutralised by troops during the military movement.

66th Unit Command told Somali News Agency (SONNA) the operation also thwarted a plot by the enemy against the people living in the Janale village.

Elsewhere, Somali troops on Friday killed 19 Al-Shabab terrorists after  attempted to attack on army base near Bal’ad district in Middle Shabelle region.

The ongoing offensive operations against Al-Shabab terrorists have seen terrorists lose control over vast swathes of Galmudug, Southwest and Hirshabelle States.
